Brawley Public Library is having a special event tomorrow morning, Saturday, Oct 12 starting at 9am. There will be a number of local Imperial Valley authors present with their books and the library will also be having their autumn book sale so come on down to the library on the plaza in downtown Brawley.
The Brawley Union High School (BUHS) drumeline will kick off the event with a performance at 9am.
I will be there (BUHS Class of 74!!) with our book “Finding Birds at the Salton Sea and in Imperial County, California” that Henry Detwiler and I co-wrote.

Desert Wildlife Unlimited is scheduling a morning to remove the non-native invasive weed saltcedar (Tamarix) from the Alamo River Wetlands and would like to invite everyone to participate!
The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 8am to 10am. You can expect to get muddy which makes it a great event for kids, students and ……young at heart!! I am in the young at heart catagory myself and will be there for the fun too!!
